Volunteer Fashion Assistant (Runway for Refuge)
 
We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Volunteer Fashion Assistant (who will report to our Designer Relationships Manager, Brooke) for ‘Runway for Refuge’ 2023
As a Volunteer Fashion Assistant, you will work closely with the ‘Runway for Refuge’ committee, volunteers, and models contributing to the event's success. You will play a crucial role by ensuring smooth operations backstage and providing assistance leading up to, during, and after the event to deliver a successful and memorable experience.

Location: New Plymouth, Taranaki.
 

Responsibilities:
Administrative Assistance: Provide essential administrative support to the Designer Relationship Manager and committee, including:
  • Assisting with fashion logistics, such as coordinating schedules, and managing and handling inquiries from models and sponsors.
  • Managing our fashion related pre & post event documentation and communication, such as data entry, spreadsheets and emails.
  • Liaise with event sponsors and volunteers to ensure their needs are met and they have the necessary information and support.
Backstage & Event Support: Work closely with the Designer Relationship Manager to assist with various backstage activities, including:
  • Providing support during fittings/rehearsals and coordinating with event committee.
  • Coordinating the flow of models before and during the show, ensuring timely changes and smooth transitions.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging displays, signage, and other event materials.
  • Coordinate backstage activities, ensuring models, designers, and volunteers are well-informed and prepared for their appearances.
  • Collaborate with the event team to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the event.
Key Competencies:
  • A positive attitude, proactive approach, and ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong organizational, communication skills, time management skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and data entry.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing demands and responsibilities during the event.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and problem-solve effectively.
  • Passion for the mission of Women's Refuge and commitment to supporting their goals.
