It’s a full house for the upcoming Runway for Refuge Designer Fashion Show, following massive support from the public and from New Zealand designers. The fundraising event for Taranaki Women’s Refuge is being held on Friday, 22 September at TSB Showplace, New Plymouth.

The first 270 tickets sold out within 30 minutes of ticket sales going live – a combination of VIP corporate tables (a first for this year’s event), Premium, and GA tickets.

All items have been donated by the amazing community of New Zealand designers, facilitated by Designer Relationships Manager and fellow designer Brooke Barrett.

Hi Brooke, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Inspired by a dreamscape coastal romance, this Wild Hearts Styled Shoot features elements of contemporary design spilling with modern refinement and oceanic tones. Waves crashed almost poetically into the dusk sky, as hearts collided and vows were exchanged.

Ivory satin silhouettes and draped tassel veils, both by Bridal Designer Brooke Barrett for Ivory Edit, swayed along the concrete floor in a sensuous rhythm like the everlasting waves. 

Flickering flames danced above tablescapes artfully styled with textured botanicals, soft linens in earthen hues, and a backdrop of whitewashed walls. A considered balance of raw and refined accents, creating a luxurious allure between softly wild notes and decadent golden details.
